"Private sushi and hibachi catering for events in Boulder and the Front Range."
Ichiban Catering serves Boulder and the surrounding Front Range communities for private sushi catering and live hibachi chef service. Boulder sits about 30 miles northwest of Denver along the base of the Flatirons, and its mix of outdoor culture, university life, and a strong local food scene makes it one of our most active service areas outside the metro. Events in Boulder range from intimate home gatherings in neighborhoods near Pearl Street and Chautauqua to corporate team events at tech companies along the Boulder–Denver corridor. The city draws a mix of residents, students, faculty, and professionals who value quality food and thoughtful presentation — which is a natural fit for our chef-led service format. We offer private sushi catering and live hibachi chef service for events of all sizes. Our sushi buffet starts at $70 per adult ($35 for children under 12), with a $700 minimum and at least 10 guests. The Chef's Special / omakase is priced at market rate. Hibachi catering starts at $55 per adult ($25 for children 12 and under), with a $600 minimum unless otherwise agreed. Each booking includes the chef station, equipment, ingredients, and on-site food preparation and service. University of Colorado Boulder events are a regular part of our Boulder bookings. Graduation parties, faculty dinners, alumni gatherings, and department celebrations are common formats. The campus and surrounding neighborhoods — University Hill, Martin Acres, Table Mesa — offer a range of home and venue settings that work well for both sushi and hibachi service. Corporate and tech company events are another strong fit in Boulder. The city's concentration of tech startups, research firms, and established companies along the 36 corridor means we regularly serve team lunches, product launch celebrations, client dinners, and company milestones. These events often take place at offices, co-working spaces, or rented event venues, and our service format adapts to most corporate settings. Boulder's outdoor culture makes it especially well suited to hibachi service, where the live cooking experience becomes part of the event. Backyard gatherings, patio events, and outdoor celebrations take advantage of the mountain views and the long summer evenings. The warmer months — typically May through September — are the peak outdoor season, though Boulder's sunny climate extends the window on either side. The Pearl Street area, Mapleton Hill, North Boulder, and the Flatirons-adjacent neighborhoods are among the most common event locations. Scenic outdoor spaces near Chautauqua Park and the foothills offer dramatic backdrops for events, though we always coordinate with the host to confirm access, setup space, and weather contingency plans. For indoor events, we need access to a standard power outlet and enough clearance for the chef station or grill setup. Most Boulder homes and venues are straightforward, but altitude and mountain-adjacent locations can occasionally affect logistics — we plan our arrival and setup with extra time to account for the drive and any site-specific considerations. When you book with Ichiban for a Boulder event, we start by confirming the date, guest count, and service format. We discuss venue details — particularly whether the event is indoors or outdoors and whether you are considering sushi, hibachi, or both. Our chef arrives with the full setup: station, equipment, and ingredients. Everything is prepared fresh on-site, and we clean our service area after the event. We recommend booking at least one week in advance, though Boulder events during graduation season and the summer months fill up earlier. All bookings require a deposit, with terms confirmed at reservation. Our cancellation policy provides a full refund (minus processing fees) for cancellations made seven or more days before the event, a 50% refund for cancellations between seven days and 72 hours, and no refund for cancellations made less than 72 hours before the event. Guest plates, utensils, and napkins are not included unless specifically confirmed in advance — the host or venue typically provides these. We provide everything related to the food service itself: the chef, the station, the equipment, the ingredients, and the preparation. Boulder events tend to have a distinct character — guests who appreciate fresh ingredients, thoughtful presentation, and a service format that brings something different to the table. Whether you are celebrating a CU graduation, hosting a team offsite for a Boulder tech company, or throwing a backyard dinner party with mountain views, the experience is designed to feel personal and intentional. The chef interacts with guests, the food is prepared in front of them, and the whole event feels more like a private dining experience than a catering delivery. Travel fees may apply depending on the event location. Please contact us directly to confirm travel fees for your date and venue.
